Lower Murray River Canoe Trip, 2021

Introduction

This is the description of my 830 km kayak trip down the lower Murray River from Wentworth to the Murray Mouth over a period of 29 days in March 2021. It is sort of a continuation, after a four month break, of my 2020 journey down the Darling River. I have paddled the lower Murray River previously and most of it I have paddled twice before. My earlier Murray journey is described here.

A summary of this 2021 journey from Wentworth to Goolwa was published in NPA Bulletin, Vol. 58, No. 2, Jun 2021, pages 28-31

For a history of rowing and paddling journeys down the Darling River see Murray-Darling Journeys.

This description is broken up into five sub-pages (click on the links below or on the three horizontal lines at the top left corner of this page):

Not included above were rest days at Renmark and Mannum.

Go here for links to my kayak trips (and those of others) on the rivers of the Murray-Darling Basin and for further information (sample pages, reviews etc) on the book Murray-Darling Journeys.
